Blingo Blingo Jewelry, Candy To My Eyes

I recently came across a start up Facebook Fan Page called Blingo Blingo

It was exciting to see such a new site and I was intrigued by the pop up sale concept

I must admit, I love a giveaway and hashtag:  #coachpurse, #free, #giveaway, #jewelry, #love ...  you get my point, this sight has lots. There was a great Coach purse giveaway with few shares, so I decided to tell all my friends about it.  For the first time ever I felt like I or someone I knew would actually win.  He he, my friend Kay did win, yeahhhhhhh

The whole start up thing really catches my attention.  I  got to wondering about the brains behind the scenes. I'm like a sponge, my thing is to reach out to people and try to learn how to take a dream and make it a reality.  So I contacted and was pleased to be able to meet the CEO and Founder Purple.  She's as cute as ever ... and that is the funnest name

We had a lovely latte and treat to get to know one another.  And a, hhm, yes of course I was eyeing up the bag of goodies she agreed to bring at my urging. Can you say, shiny

I just loves me some costume jewelry, yum.  Can make an outfit by a mile.  Not cheap looking though. These 18 kt. gold dipped bracelets were definitely some of my favourites as well as the silver bead bracelets. I would need to stop myself from layering right up my arm

Turns out Purple comes from a long line of Jewelers. She has the expertise and working knowledge for high end jewels.  I'd say an eye for quality is definitely needed to supply good quality costume jewelry.  We all love it, you can say it. You'll notice the Love bracelet is facing me and not outward.  Decided I could look at THAT more often, LOL

Entrepreneurs rock my world; people that want to drum to their own beat. In our conversation I learned Purple travels the world, has lived in many places AND professionally arranges flowers.  Where can I sign up?

The best part....we might even work together on a project, pinch me!

Oh, and just an FYI, there is Chanel makeup giveaway on right now.  Don't delay and enter

Create Your Own Heat Source

Saw a video today from a boat owner on how to create your own little heat source

My work area is directly beside a window and in the winter its a very cool spot.  Doesn't help my windows are so old (future job).  Decided to give this a try as an alternate to constantly using the furnace

I had a brief discussion with myself around carbon monoxide, however, I'm using tea lights and those are candles everyone uses around the house on a regular basis; put that to rest

Apparently it works with the air moving around between the pots and pushing out around the room

Supplies: I found all this stuff just lying around the house

I got a little fancier than the boater who uses this to heat his boat

Top off the inside pot

Place the larger pot over the smaller one

The candles will burn for around 4 hours. Your heating a small space for about .15 cents a day ... sounds like a deal

We'll see if this keeps me cozy.  Brilliant!

Jackhammer Unwanted Cement

Needed my sump pump to sit below water level so went to Home Depot and rented a BOSCH jackhammer

Made short order of the job and did it in under 1 hour

Would I rent one again, lets just say I hope I never have too. Very easy to use however really really heavy

The price was right, $65.00 rental fee

Basement Flooding? How To Divert Rain Water Away From The House and Set Up An Emergency Sump Pump

I own a very old house and things go wrong from time to time.  My recent woes, basement flooding due to a crumbling drainage system.  All the old drain tiles have collapsed with the years. I want to show how you can take care of emergency flooding problems on your own. You don't need to spend thousands and hire out for help

Now keep in mind this is the "get me through the winter fix". When summer arrives I'll have to figure out what my next move will be for the long run

This is the quick version vlog of these two tasks combined.  For step by step instructions see my in depth vlogs labeled appropriately in my older posts

Nailene Fake Nail Review

I used to get my nails professionally done and just loved them!  Don't get me wrong, I can grow lovely long nails, its the French Manicure that rocks my world.  If you do it on your own nails it will only last a few days then start to chip away. I detest unkempt nails

I just loved looking down and seeing my pretty nails

Since I cut them out of my budget I have missed them dearly.  One day at work I noticed my friends beautiful nails and was surprised to find out they were glue on's. Frankly I never even thought of this as a viable option

Being the frugal one I did not go with the brand my friend suggested but went with the less costly version Nailene

They look very natural and lasted up to 3 full weeks. Not bad for $8.88

They would have lasted even longer. I took them off only because I wanted to put on a fresh pair for an upcoming trip I was taking abroad

They are also surprisingly durable. I found they can split near the top from time to time however you get extras in your kit so easily replaced.  Now keep in mind you can pay a little more and get ones that are split resistant, I'll review them at a later date

One word of advice, you get a glue applicator in the kit you buy but I chose to buy a separate more substantial Nailene glue that I keep with me at all times. If one pops off for any reason I'm ready to re glue in an instant. I find the one in the kit just gets too bunged up and doesn't spread as evenly because you have to cut the tip

Loving Nailene, you'll never see me in the salon again!

Faux Berkin Bag (Value Village)
Spike ankle boots (Beyond the Rack under $15)

London England In A Weekend

Just back from a jam packed weekend in London

Had THE most lovely time. I met up with a dear old friend that I haven't seen since I was 14

At the end of grade 8 we both moved away from our small town, her to England and myself to BC. Once we were together again, I felt like I had just seen her yesterday

We went to a bar called Gordon's Wine Bar. Swear to you it has the best ambiance. Its the oldest Wine Bar in London. Could not have been happier to find this place! Basically stayed all night

I implore you to take a bike tour. We did, with Fat Tire Bike Tours, you wouldn't believe how much ground we covered. No waiting for buses or taxis for us! I find its the best and fastest way to get around a city. Our tour guide Matt was handsome and entertaining. They also operate out of Berlin, Paris and Barcelona. Hope to catch up with them again in the future

Londoners take their Halloween very seriously, to mark the occasion we took in the London Dungeon Halloween production. It was brilliant, right down to the awful smell of London back in the day

Then off to the London Eye and EDF Energy London Eye River Cruise

How to even describe the best view London has to offer. I might not be able to get everywhere in London I want but I can sure take it all in with a view as far as the eye can see! We chose to take our cruise at night to enjoy all the sparkling lights of the river. Well worth it and I'm so glad we did it

I love you London, your one of my favorite cities in the world!

Just a Touch of Blue!!!!

I went out the other night and was requested to wear all black with a touch of blue, thought the flower was appropriate

Oh, look at all the orbs, wonder who is visiting?
