What To Wear To Vancouver Fashion Week 2014

I'm always in a perplexed state when off to a fashion show ... what to wear!

I am fully aware I'll be surrounded by some very beautiful  people.  I actually try not to put too much weight on my decisions as I see everything from grunge to completely bizarre to over the top exquisite.  I'm sure you get my drift, really, anything goes

Oh, this is AWKWARD, the minute you realize you can see right through your dress, call me edgy

Dyeing Hair Extensions - Hair By Darlene

You could describe me as a beautiful hair underachiever.  I have no idea what to do with it.  More than not you'll find me in a ponytail, Argh, how boring is that!.  I was thrilled to be invited to join Darlene from Hair By Darlene for an afternoon of fun and a style makeover

Gotta say, one multi talented diamond she is

She is also Founder/Designer at Designer Dolls AND she does make-up AND designs jewellery, whew!

We spent time dyeing hair extensions for a photo shoot she was participating in the next day

This is how my hair looked once she had done her magic,  I felt like Cinderella.  We then broke into a spontaneous photo shoot on her lovely balcony with a city and ocean view (more on that later)

First Day of Rain

Love, love summer, however admittedly, also love to utilize another part of my wardrobe

First day of rain and I've reverted to black on black on a variation of black, hmmm get how that rhymes with hack, LOL.  I've always found that older type words have intuitive meanings, you can feel them on your tongue.  Like the metric system curuffles me, millimetre that doesn't feel like a size, say; smidge, I get that

I'm all about hats when it rains, I don't have the extra arm to carry the umbrella

No diff to mention what's underneath, I love that you can't see it

 

Whirlwind Vegas, Less than 48 hours!

Went to Vegas for the opening of SLS, wow what a whirlwind, still trying to put the pieces together

Met some great folks and ate and drank like a rockstar

Started things off with a bang, LOL the airport of all places.  A little drink and DJ while you wait

OMG hot, hot hot.  It was 90 out and I was told that was cool for this time of the year

 

Our big night out decided to showcase a lovely Vancouver Designer, K-O.ME, isn't this silk wrap gorgeous

Before the real festivities began went for a toodle around.  Some of the eye candy that caught my fancy

Thank you Terry for spending the day with us Saturday and giving us a glance of everything in a nutshell

Went back to the SLS during the day for a different perspective.  Some features I really loved

The outside entrance, though completely redone, kept the original entrance design from the Sahara

  

The entry floor all lit up

Rock'n pool area

This super cool LED feature over the bar, best I've ever seen

Seriously met some great people by the pool, had a great time, in and out in 38 hours, gonna take me a week to sleep this off

Caution!!!!! only drink 1, whatever this was, rendered me out of commission

Blue on Blue?

Is there such a thing as too much of the same color?

When I was younger my sister was all matchy matchy, I thought it was silly.  Keep in mind she used to pay me to put make-up on me, she was determined I would look prettier.  I'm admittedly a late bloomer or vanity has kicked in, argh!!!!  Didn't really start to wear make-up until a couple of years ago.  Oh lord better warm up to 50, which is Right Around The Corner, no doubt I'll start to trowel the shit on!

I digress, is there such a thing as too much of the same color?  Maybe

Bowen Island - West Coast Island Adventure

Oh my, what a day

Thought I was just going to my old stomping grounds Troll's in Horseshoe Bay for breakfast and a meet n greet with a new friend

Nope, much more than that, an impromptu invite for some Island fun!!! was AWESOME as Lego man would say

Hmm, the sign says ...think they mean no tight rope walking

for someone that doesn't really drink, that I did

Decided to try to fit in and join the islanders for a friendly game

Grabbed a random child for a photo op, looks a little bewildered but all went well

Next stop Killarney Lake, beautiful and clear

Onto the OPA Tree - This ancient tree is over a thousand years old.  Bowen Island was clear cut at one time and for whatever reason OPA was spared, thankfully

We were happy to run into the curator of this fantabulous property, 5 acres of heaven on earth, visit their website for a great retreat idea Xenia Centre

Many people leave trinkets to show their appreciation, we also lit incense

 

off to the meditation sanctuary

 At the end of the day we ended up at the most beautiful house imaginable, for the sake of the owners privacy I did not take any pictures. Think Victorian mansion, Hobbit house with a little Beetlejuice peppered in for whimsy, take my word for it, incredible

Our chef spoiled us

back to the ferry and home again

As you can see we ate and drank like it was our last day, love love love adventures, thank you Richard
