How To Install Bathroom Floor Tile For Girls

My powder room reno is coming along nicely

I chose this particular vinyl flooring because it's thicker than usual and groutable.  At the end of the day I decided not to go with the grout because I liked the look as it was, however, I love the idea that it can be grouted to look more like actual cement flooring

Truth be told I would put in cement flooring on my whole main level if I didn't have to reinforce the floors to hold the weight ... NOT getting into that on my own!

DIY Oil Furnace Cleaning

This was an awful job! but, had to be done

It was either pay around $350.00 or do it myself.  I did it myself

I know you ask ... who has an oil furnace in this day and age?  That would be me, my philosophy

.....If it ain't broke don't replace it

Jackhammer Unwanted Cement

Needed my sump pump to sit below water level so went to Home Depot and rented a BOSCH jackhammer

Made short order of the job and did it in under 1 hour

Would I rent one again, lets just say I hope I never have too. Very easy to use however really really heavy

The price was right, $65.00 rental fee

Basement Flooding? How To Divert Rain Water Away From The House and Set Up An Emergency Sump Pump

I own a very old house and things go wrong from time to time.  My recent woes, basement flooding due to a crumbling drainage system.  All the old drain tiles have collapsed with the years. I want to show how you can take care of emergency flooding problems on your own. You don't need to spend thousands and hire out for help

Now keep in mind this is the "get me through the winter fix". When summer arrives I'll have to figure out what my next move will be for the long run

This is the quick version vlog of these two tasks combined.  For step by step instructions see my in depth vlogs labeled appropriately in my older posts

Basement Flooding? How To Set Up An Emergency Sump Pump

Day 2 of my water problem

The rain was just too heavy last night, after diverting the downspout I still needed to set up a sump pump

Where is my man when I need him? Ugh

Turns out all the digging I've done over the years is for not. After speaking with a plumber I've found that all the new PVC piping I installed was not the correct type. Should NOT have been solid but the type with the holes in it. Oh great!

Don't you just love redoing jobs. Wasn't busy next summer anyways

Basement Flooding? - Divert Eavestrough Water Away From The House

This is what I'm dealing with, UGH!!!!!

I've dug up half my yard and replaced all the piping I could find over the years.  Still there is water

I've now resorted to a quick fix of just diverting the eavestrough water away from the house so as not to overwhelm my ageing drainage system. Don't want my basement to flood. Been there, done that! thank goodness I watch for trouble like a hawk and caught this before it got out of hand

Wish me luck! It's really raining out there so tonight will be a test run

Thank you DH, a good old friend who advised me this would be a good idea
